Applicants are encouraged to apply by the preferred application deadline to provide ample time for the admission review and the immigration process. The admission evaluation can take up to five weeks from the date the last required admission document is received; this time frame does not include the graduate department review. Applicants who do not meet the immigration deadline may be required to defer their admission.
Applicants who can defer their application or admission for up to one year:
- Applicants who have not yet been accepted should complete an Application Change Form and specify the new preferred start term.
- Applicants who have been accepted and have not enrolled may defer their application up to one year from the semester of acceptance.
- Those accepted into a graduate program must contact the department of their program of study to request a deferral.
Applicants needing to defer their application for more than a year are required to reapply and pay the application fee. Previously submitted academic documents will not be required.
