Core Assessment
As a condition for belonging to the core curriculum, all core classes are required by the state to participate in core assessment according to the following schedule:
- 2021-2022 & 2024-2025
- Communications skills -- ALL core classes
- Critical Thinking skills -- ALL core classes
- 2022-2023 & 2025-2026
- Empirical & Quantitative skills -- Core classes in the areas of Mathematics, Life & Physical Sciences, and Social & Behavioral Sciences
- Teamwork -- Core classes in First-Year Composition, Creative Arts, and Life & Physical Sciences
- 2023-2024 & 2026-2027
- Personal Responsibility -- First-Year Composition; Government;
History; Language, Philosophy & Culture - Social Responsibility -- Creative Arts; Government; History; Language, Philosophy, & Culture; Social & Behavioral Sciences
- Personal Responsibility -- First-Year Composition; Government;
Faculty interested in seeing whether a class they're teaching is being assessed in any given term -- or interested in seeing which objectives are being assessed for that course -- should consult this document.
