About QEP

You have been hearing information about the Quality Enhancement Plan or QEP since earlier this fall when a call for ideas went out to the TWU community. The QEP is a 5-year plan that describes a carefully designed course of action to address a well-defined, focused, and measurable topic related to improved student learning and/or student success.

The QEP is a component of the reaffirmation of the accreditation process, which is conducted by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools or SACS-COC. It is essential that the QEP has broad-based college input in the selection of the topic and be accepted by the college community as having important value for enhancing student learning. You are likely familiar with this process in TWU’s previous QEP, “Experiential Learning - a.k.a. Learn by Doing” which became an important part of TWU’s mission, vision and strategic plan.

This is where you come in! The Fall 2021 QEP selection committee has been working this semester to solicit and review potential ideas and topics for our next QEP. We have narrowed down proposal options to our top 3 finalists. What we need from you is for you to review the Executive Summary of each proposal idea and provide us with feedback by answering the questions in the survey. One or more of these proposals or perhaps a combination of these will be chosen for recommendation to the SACS Leadership Team in order to determine a topic that will be incorporated into a full QEP plan (75 pages) to be funded and implemented over five years in conjunction with our reaffirmation of accreditation.

For more information regarding the QEP proposals, please contact QEP Selection Committee Co-Chairs: Amanda Hurlbut AHurlbut1@twu.edu & Shaunon McClellan SMcClellan1@twu.edu.
