Asst. Professor Jana Perez and Adjunct Instructor Raul Varela presented research recently at the UCDA Design Education Summit held this year at Virginia Tech. http://ucda.com/educonf.lasso
Perez and Varela lectured on "Curriculum that creates Designers of the Future", sharing program objectives, course projects and resulting student work that addressed the summit's topic of "Catch 22: being stuck between technology and design in the classroom". Among the ideas shared, TWU graphic design curriculum fosters "design thinking" through three main ideas: eliminating silos, fostering design leadership and creating interaction points.
