VA Work study information:
The VA work study pays the Federal minimum wage and limits number of hours a student can work. Work study students are limited to 25 hours a week and can work a maximum of 8 hours a day.

The work study program does not pay in weekly or monthly increments! The VA work study pays students in increments of 50 completed hours. This means you will receive all paychecks 7-10 days after you have worked 50 hours.

Advance pay:
The VA work study offers advance pay to offset the unusual payment schedule. The Advance payment program allows the VA to pay you upfront for future completed work.

Date of hire:
Per VA regulations you can NOT begin work until the regional VA office has received your signed work study contract. In most cases you can start the day your contract is faxed to the VA or within 24hrs. The VA will not pay you for any work completed before your official start date!

General Job responsibilities:
General office responsibilities will include assisting veteran students by answering veteran phone calls, processing veteran’s paperwork, imaging documents and helping with walk-in appointments.
