TWU Regents approve
faculty promotions and tenure

DENTON –
The Texas Woman’s University Board of Regents recently
approved promotions and tenure recommendations at its June
quarterly meeting.
Assistant Professors
Dr. Lynn Akin (library and information studies),
Dr. Kyle Biggerstaff (kinesiology), Dr.
Sandra Cesario (nursing), Dr. Shelley Jackson
(family sciences), Dr. Ann Lieberth
(communication sciences and disorders), Dr. Camelia
Maier (biology), Dr. Ann Malecha
(nursing), Dr. Toni Roddey (physical therapy),
Dr. Claire Sahlin (women’s studies),
Dr. Kathryn Tart (nursing), and Dr.
Kristin Wiginton (health studies) were all promoted
to the rank of associate professor and awarded tenure.
Associate Professors
Dr. Bruce Grossie (nutrition and food sciences)
and Dr. AnaLouise Keating (women’s
studies) also were awarded tenure.
Several retiring
faculty were given Emeritus status by the Regents. Associate
Provost Dr. Wilkes Berry (English, speech
and foreign languages) was named Professor and Associate Provost
Emeritus. Lanelle Blanton (music and drama),
Dr. Andie Hsueh (nutrition and food sciences), Dr.
Oneida Hughes (nursing), Dr. John Knesek
(biology), Dr. Janice LaPointe-Crump (dance)
and Dr. Virginia White (occupational therapy)
were each appointed as Professor Emeritus for TWU.
Dr. Basil
Hamilton, professor and chair for the Department
of Psychology and Philosophy, was named Professor and Chair
Emeritus and Dr. Richard Rodean, professor
of Music and Drama and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences,
was named Professor and Dean Emeritus.
