DENTON — Dr. Phyllis Bridges, Cornaro Professor of English at Texas Woman’s University, will sign copies of her latest book, Marking New Trails: An Informal History of the Texas Woman’s University, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 11 in the rotunda of the Blagg-Huey Library on the Denton campus. The event is open to the public. The TWU Former Students Association (FSA) is selling the book for $20. Copies will be available for purchase starting at 1 p.m. in the FSA Boutique, located in the Joyce Thompson Lecture Hall, Room 101 in the library. Copies also will be available for sale through the FSA website at a later date.
Marking New Trails builds on the first history of the university, written in 1982 by Dr. Joyce Thompson, professor of English, and Dr. Bridges’ own book, published during the university’s centennial in 2001. The new book includes notable events and achievements from the founding of TWU through the present day.
The book also will be sold by the FSA during TWU’s Homecoming/Reunion, scheduled April 11-12.
