TWU Houston Center presents 18th Annual Parry Distinguished Lectureship
HOUSTON — Transformational leadership for effective health care delivery is the focus as Texas Woman’s University presents the 18th Parry Distinguished Lectureship Friday, March 1, 2013 at TWU’s Institute of Health Sciences-Houston Center.
The presentation, titled “Nursing Leadership in the New Millennium: Leading in Challenging Times/Changing Times” is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon in the Houston Endowment Auditorium located at TWU’s Houston Center, 6700 Fannin St. in the Texas Medical Center. The featured speaker for the event is TWU Regent and Distinguished Alumna Lola Chriss. Regent Chriss is worldwide manager of the Texas Instruments (TI) Occupational Health Organization, where she is responsible for leading the company’s eight registered nurses and corporate medical director, and also directing the strategy for Occupational Health – World Wide. Regent Chriss is widely recognized for her exemplary leadership at the national, state and local levels.
The 18th annual Parry Distinguished Lectureship is a collaborative endeavor of the Parry Endowment, TWU Houston’s Nelda C. Stark College of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International, Beta Beta Houston.
TWU has applied for CNE Type 1 contact hours from the Texas Nursing Association (TNA) for the event. The TNA is an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
