Woods, bursar for Texas Woman's University, recently was voted
president of the Texas Bursars for Universities and Colleges
(Texas BUC$).
More than 200 financial
management professionals from 68 colleges, universities and
commercial associates across the state are members of Texas
BUC$. The association's mission is to contribute to the professional
advancement of its members and discover new approaches and
solutions to issues common to those working in student business
services.
“Since joining
Texas BUC$ in 2002, I have developed invaluable professional
and personal relationships with my fellow members, and it
is a privilege for me to serve as their president,”
Ms. Woods said. “Having served in the area of student
business service for the past 32 years, I understand what
a critical role those of us in this field play in the educational
experience of our students.”
In addition to
her role with Texas BUC$, Ms. Woods serves as the current
chair of the Texas Association of State Senior College and
University Business Officers (TASSCUBO) Student Business Service
Committee. She also has served as treasurer of the TWU State
Employee Charitable Campaign for the past three years.
Ms. Woods started
her career at TWU in 1977 and has served as the university's
bursar since 2001. She lives in Collinsville.
