10/6/08
DENTON –
Educators from throughout the Metroplex received a lesson
on how to better use technology to improve teaching and learning
in math and science during the Teachers Teaching with Technology™
Regional Conference hosted by Texas Woman’s University
Sept. 20.
More than 300 current and future math and science teachers
from the kindergarten to university level attended the conference,
sponsored by Texas Instruments.
“As a leader
in educating highly-qualified math and science teachers to
serve the citizens of Texas, it’s crucial that TWU provide
teachers with the technological skills necessary to improve
student learning,” said Dr. Don Edwards, associate dean
of the TWU College of Arts and Sciences and chair of the TWU
math and science department.
Attendees at the
conference participated in hands-on demonstration sessions
using new technology and received technology-enhanced classroom
activities tips and ideas.
For nearly 20 years,
Teachers Teaching with Technology has provided professional
development for teachers who want to teach more effectively
by adding educational technology to their curricula. For more
