TWU's Ferguson named as 'one to watch'

DENTON — Colleen Ferguson, associate director of continuing education at Texas Woman’s University, has been selected as one of ConventionSouth magazine’s Meeting Professionals to Watch in 2008. Her profile will appear in the December 2007 issue.

Ms. Ferguson was nominated for the award by Leslie Frazier, director of convention services at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Dallas.
“I have had the privilege of working with Colleen for the past seven years,” Ms. Frazier said. “Colleen’s professionalism and attention to detail is not to be equaled with many in her profession.”
Ms. Ferguson has been with TWU since 1989. She has overseen the planning and development of hundreds of continuing education opportunities, community enrichment courses and conferences that draw participants from TWU and the Denton community, as well as international visitors.
“This honor for Colleen reflects her years of experience planning events and meetings for a wide range of clients at TWU and in the community,” said Mike Simmons, assistant vice president for Lifelong Learning at TWU. “While we may see her expertise on a daily basis, it’s gratifying for her work to be recognized by those outside the university who are in the business of meeting planning.”
