PowerPoint Templates Instructions
NOTE: These templates require Microsoft Office 2003 for Windows or Office 2004 for the Mac. If these are not installed on your university computer, please contact your ITS tech support person.
Instructions
for changing pictures in Template A
1. Download
PowerPoint Template A
2. Click
on "View" on the Menu (upper left between "Edit"
and "Insert"). Scroll down and select "Master"
and then to the right select "Slide Master." You
are now able to edit the photos on the left.
3. The
photos should be sized as stated below. You must size
the photos prior to inserting them in PowerPoint using the
appropriate photo sizing software, otherwise the photos will
be pixilated.
- Top
photo - 2.25 inches (h) by 1.5 inches (w)
- Middle
photo - 2 inches (h) by 1.5 inches (w)
- Bottom
photo - 2 inches (h) by 1.5 inches (w)
4. Click
on the photo you wish to replace. Press the "Delete"
button.
5. To
insert a new photo, click on "Insert" on the Menu
(upper left between "View" and "Format")
and select "Picture" and then to the right to choose
"From File."

the picture you wish to replace. Click

or use your own. REMEMBER TO SIZE YOUR PHOTOS
TO THE SPECIFICATIONS LISTED HERE.
6. Once
the photo is inserted in PowerPoint, select the photo and
move it to the left, so it is placed in the empty space where
you deleted the origninal photo.
7. Once
you have inserted your three photos, click on "View"
again and select "Normal." You can now add text
and additional graphics to your presentation.

Instructions
for adding text in all templates
1. Select
a PowerPoint Template to download to your computer. (Click
here for a list of available templates.)
2. Click
on "Insert" on the Menu (upper left between "View"
and "Format") and select "Text Box." An
icon with an "A" will appear on the screen. Click
on the middle of the slide and a text box will appear. Begin
typing text.
3. Use
"Format" on the Menu (upper left between "Insert"
and "Tools") to adjust the size, font and format
of your text. Use the arrows on the text box to move it to
your desired position.
4. Make
sure that you use separate text boxes for slide titles and
bullet points.
5. Don't
forget to spell check your presentation. Click on the spell
check icon or go to "Tools" (upper left between
"Format" and "Slide Show") and select
"Spelling."
