Need a Quote?

Do you need new software or new hardware? Even though you may know exactly what you need, you should go to https://footprints.twu.edu to submit a ticket for a quote.

What Should I Include?

If you know what hardware or software you need, please indicate it on the ticket. If you are unsure about the technology you need, please put a brief description of what you would like to do on the form and we will contact you to discuss.

What Happens After I Submit a Ticket?

The process depends on whether you are looking to order new hardware or new software.

Hardware

Once we receive your request, we will verify if the item(s) requested are compatible with the minimum TWU computing standards. If everything looks compatible, then a request for quote will be sent to our vendor(s). When the quote is returned, we will send it to you via Footprints and close your service request ticket. You may then submit your requisition or contact the vendor directly to order with a P-card, if the items are allowable (Procurement Restricted Items).

Software

For PC, Mac, or iPad software, in order for the University to be compliant with State and Federal ADA regulations, a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) or a VPAT Exception form must be on file for all software purchased by the University (TWU Policy 9.19). If there is no record for the software package, either a VPAT or VPAT Exception form must be filed by IT before proceeding with the quote acquisition. All software applications with a VPAT or a VPAT Exception form currently on file are selectable when creating a ticket. If your software is not listed, please enter it into the textbox labeled “If not listed please, enter it here” when creating the ticket in Footprints.

PC or Mac

Once there is a VPAT or a VPAT exception form on file, a request for a quote will be sent to our vendor(s). When the quote is returned, we will send it to you via Footprints and close your service request ticket. You may then submit your requisition or contact the vendor directly to order with a P-card, if the items are allowable (Procurement Restricted Items).

iPad*

Once there is a VPAT or a VPAT exception form on file, a request for a quote will be sent to our vendor(s). When the quote is returned, we will send it to you via Footprints. Upon response from you with the account to IDT, we will purchase the software from the App Store and receive the redemption code(s). Redemption codes are distributed to you via Footprints, and then we will close your service request ticket. At that time you may distribute the code(s) to your faculty and/or staff. For instructions on how to redeem these apps on your iPad, please refer to page 13 on our iPad: Quick Reference Guide.

Where Will My Order Be Shipped?

Usually software and hardware is shipped to our attention. Once we receive the item(s) we will notify you and setup a time that we can install/configure. However, if the item(s) are delivered directly to you, please let us know and we will setup a time to install/configure. It is important that we are notified even if the item(s) do not need to be installed or configured. TWU must maintain accurate records as to the whereabouts of all technology equipment.

*All iPads purchased by the University are given a single set of applications for faculty or staff to redeem and will include the following: iAnnotate PDF, Numbers, Pages, Keynote, iMovie, Upad. Please note that this is per iPad ordered and not per faculty or staff member that may use the iPad.
