Prior to joining Texas Woman’s University in August 2010, Dr. Starrett was the department chair at North Central Texas College. Before accepting that position, she was a school principal in the in Little Elm ISD in Little Elm, Texas.

Before going to Little Elm, Dr. Starrett was the supervisor for federal programs in Denton ISD in Denton, Texas. She also served as an assistant principal on two campuses after teaching general and Title One classes in Denton ISD.  During the time she was a teacher, she worked with the University of North Texas to establish their Professional Development school for preservice teachers.

Dr. Starrett’s scholarly interests include experiential learning, reflective practice and supervision.  

Dr. Starrett is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Texas Association of School Administrators, the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration and the American Association of School Administrators.
