Dr. Fredrickson came to TWU in the summer of 2009. Her prior experiences in education centered around special education, general education, theatre, choir, debate/speech and educational leadership. Since coming to TWU she continues to teach in the Teacher Education program, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Some of her courses have included foundations of teaching, diversity, gender and education, educational theory, instruction, and assessment. Dr. Fredrickson also coordinates the TExES PREP Center where she offers workshops to assist students in passing their certification exams. The workshops she currently offers include PPR preparation, EC-6 Core Subjects preparation, 4-8 Core Subjects preparation, ESL/Bilingual supplemental preparation and Special Education supplemental preparation. Her research interests include teacher pedagogy, teacher certification standards and requirements, education as a vehicle for social change, and examining educational aspects through unique lenses and techniques, including her work with the Jenlink Poetic. Dr. Fredrickson also serves as the co-sponsor for the TWU chapter of the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE).
