Melanie Baker
Senior Secretary, Student Union & CARE Office

Melanie began her career at TWU in May of 2014 as Senior Secretary for Campus Alliance for Resource Education (CARE) and the Student Union. Prior to joining TWU, Melanie enjoyed a long career in retail administration with a major national chain. In her role at TWU Melanie provides administrative support to both CARE and the Student Union. She works with a diverse group of students from traditional to veterans and commuters assisting them with their resource needs. One of her favorite parts of her job is working with students. As a Denton resident for the last four years Melanie enjoys her family including her husband, three children and two grandchildren.

Anna KessenichAnna Kessenich
Associate Director Student Union Programming

Anna joined the TWU community in November of 2016 and serves as the Associate Director of Student Union Programming. She oversees campus and community-wide programming efforts sponsored by the Student Union and the Campus Activities Board. Anna received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and her Masters of Science in College Counseling and Student Development from St. Cloud State University.  As a facilitator of Gallup Strengths, Anna enjoys guiding students on their journey to reach their potential and is motivated by students’ eagerness to learn.   She is often found brainstorming, solving problems, or having meaningful conversations with those around her.


Jennifer Oparaodu

Coordinator of Student Activities

Jennifer has been at TWU since 2009. She began her journey at TWU as a student where she earned a Bachelor of Psychology in 2013. Jennifer advises the primary student programming board at TWU, The Campus Activities Board. She works very closely with her CAB students to provide meaningful, educational, and fun events for TWU students. These events include comedy nights, poetry nights, concerts, movie nights, off campus events, and more. She also coordinates large events during homecoming including the long standing traditional event, Spring Fling. Jennifer enjoys serving each student she comes into contact with and strives to make every student feel a part of the TWU family. 
David Sweeten
Director of the Student Union and Conference Services; @TWUDavid

David has been at TWU since November of 2004 and serves as Director of the Student Union and Conference Services.  He currently serves on five campus committees including Special Event, Student Code of Conduct, TWU Emergency Management Planning, Student Union Advisory Council and Dining Committee.  He is a member of ACUI (Association of College Unions International) and ACCED-I (Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors – International) and is currently the ACCED-I Region 2 Immediate Past Regional Director.  In the Denton community, he volunteers with Denton Boys Baseball.  David graduated from Baylor University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications and a Master of Science in Education, Sport Management. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids. 

Jasmine Wiley
Supervisor of Student Union Operations

Jasmine has been at TWU since 2010 where she started as a student employee in the Student Union Office.  In 2015 she was hired full-time as the Operations Supervisor.  Jasmine oversees the day to day operations of the Union including student staff supervision and scheduling while serving as the primary contact with facilities for work orders.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas Woman’s University and is currently pursuing her MBA. Jasmine is the advisor for the Chronic Illness Alliance and Campus Based for Family and Life and she works closely with the Student Union Board.  She is passionate about researching various issues that afflict vulnerable populations. She looks forward to growing professionally and working with TWU to help students make the most of their college experience.
