They range from the explicit, such as a hospital employee organizational chart, to the subtle, like gender differences between the healthcare provider and their patient. This session will explore how multicultural identities, privilege, and power impact you, your patients, and your work.

The TWU Ally Program is an interactive workshop held as part of a nation-wide effort to provide support to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning (LGBTQ) students, faculty, and staff. The purpose of this program is to increase knowledge, personal and community awareness, and the number of physical and emotionally safer spaces for LGBTQ individuals on the TWU campus and in professional practice. We hope to do so by educating students, staff, and faculty and providing opportunities to practice strategies for advocacy.
