We encourage every TWU student to have health insurance. Each year some students suffer from a major illness or injury, on or off the TWU campuses, which requires medical attention or hospitalization beyond the services that the Student Health Service can provide. Although many families have some form of health insurance, these plans often do not cover the college student out of their insurance plan network. It is important to evaluate your insurance policy to determine whether you have benefits while attending TWU. Costly medical bills can impose financial hardship.

Texas Woman's University sponsors an Injury & Sickness Insurance Plan underwritten by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Insurance Company and arranged by Academic Health Plans, Inc.  Complete Information available at www.ahpcare.com/twu or (855)AHP-CARE or (855) 247-2273. Undergraduate students taking six (6) or more credit hours ( 3 hours in Summer) and Graduate students taking 3 or more credit hours are eligible to enroll in the Student Insurance Plan.  All F-1 or J-1 Visa students are automatically enrolled in the Student Insurance Plan.
