What is Blackboard?
Blackboard® is a web service that allows faculty to upload course information with the purpose of teaching an online (internet) class to registered students. Students register for the online classes and receive credit hours exactly as if they were sitting in a classroom on campus. All of TWU's campuses offer courses online.
Blackboard offers several features for both students and faculty:
- virtual chat classrooms
- discussion boards to post assignments for review or receive or receive posted assignments
- get announcements/send email to professors or classmates
Only students that are enrolled in online courses, or courses in which class notes will be posted, have a Blackboard account. Blackboard accounts use Portal username and password to log in. Changes to your password in Portal affect Blackboard. If you have any questions, please call the Help Desk at 81-3971 or 940.898.3971
