As of 4/25/2013, all Travel Assistance Program funds allocated for FY 2013 have been expended; applications are no longer being accepted.
The Travel Assistance Fund enables faculty to defray some of the travel costs associated with presenting at professional conferences and meetings or attending a meeting where they will receive a major award. In order to fund travel to conferences throughout the year, Research and Sponsored Programs allocates money for fall, spring, and summer assistance (e.g., funding of fall requests will total approximately one-third of the funds available for the program). The dates for the semesters are: September 1 - January 15 (fall); January 16 - May 31 (spring); and June 1 - August 31 (summer). A maximum of $600 of expenses will be funded.
Intended for faculty making major presentations, applicants must be full-time faculty of Texas Woman’s University (TWU) with a teaching appointment for 2012 – 2013. Adjunct faculty, faculty members with part-time employment or on modified service, and students are not eligible to apply. Only one trip per person will be funded in a fiscal year.
The application for funds should be received in the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (Denton) at least two weeks before departure although more time must be allowed for foreign travel requests.
