As of January 21, 2014, all funding for travel during the spring semester has been allocated; no additional applications are being accepted.
However, applications are still being accepted for travel during the summer semester.
The Travel Assistance Fund enables faculty to defray some of the travel costs associated with presenting at professional conferences and meetings or attending a meeting where they will receive a major award. In order to fund travel to conferences throughout the year, Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) will allocate money for fall (Sept 1 – Jan 15), spring (Jan 16 – May 31), and summer assistance (June 1 – Aug 31). It is anticipated that 24 awards will be given during the Fall, 24 awards during the Spring, and 16 awards for summer. A maximum of $600 will be funded.
Intended for faculty making major presentations, applicants must be full-time faculty of Texas Woman’s University (TWU) with a teaching appointment for 2013 – 2014. Adjunct faculty, faculty members with part-time employment or on modified service, and students are not eligible to apply. Only one trip per person will be funded in a fiscal year.
The application for funds should be received in the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (Denton) at least two weeks before departure although more time must be allowed for foreign travel requests.
