Description of research activities:   Dr. Beck is involved in the fields of Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, and Molecular Modelling, fields simultaneously overlapping Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics. His research centers around computational analysis of molecular interactions and development of new protein structural analysis tools.  His research projects include:

• Identification, Prediction, and Energy flow studies of Protein:Protein Interfaces;
• Modeling of the Regulatory Domain of Smooth Muscle Myosin;
• Role of solvent in controlling activity and dimerization of Serratia marcescens endonuclease

He is also interested in high performance computing infrastructure on campus.
