Applications are accepted at any time.  However, to ensure timely processing and advising, we recommend applying 6-8 weeks before the beginning of classes. Please keep in mind that there are separate Scholarship and Financial Aid deadlines.

Master's Application Procedures

Step 1:

Apply to TWU

1. At the ApplyTexas.org site, select Reading Education as your degree and select M.Ed.
2. Select Degree seeking.
3. Indicate that you are pursuing coursework in Reading.

TWU Admissions

Step 2:

Admission requirements for the MEd in Reading are:

• 3.0 overall GPA in undergraduate and graduate courses
• *Professional Resume
• *Professional Statement addressing candidate’s professional background, learning goals, and perceived competency related to technology and teaching/learning.

*Email the materials in Step 2 to applyreading@twu.edu. Put your first and last name and Master’s Application in the subject line (SallyStudentMastersApp)

Doctoral Application Procedures

Step 1:

Apply to TWU

1. At the ApplyTexas.org site, select Reading Education as your degree and select PhD.
2. Select Degree seeking.
3. Indicate that you are pursuing coursework in Reading.

TWU Admissions

Step 2:

1.      Take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
2.      Have the scores sent to TWU (TWU’s Institution Code is 6826)

Step 3:

Submit the following documents by email to applyreading@twu.edu. Put your first and last name and Doctoral Application in the subject line (SallyStudentDocApplication)

1.      3 letters of recommendation
2.      Professional resumé
3.      1-2 page statement of professional experience and goals in pursuing a doctoral degree

Step 4:

Complete an onsite writing sample and screening by the Admission Committee
