Six to eight new doctoral students are admitted each year. This rate of admission ensures a relatively small cohort of students, allowing for individualized attention, yet provides a large enough group of students to provide opportunities for meaningful peer interaction, support, and socialization. Overall, the program tends to support 40-50 students across all cohorts at any given time. Current student and graduate profiles clearly show how their development mirrors the program’s multicultural-feminist goals, objectives, and philosophy. We have a diverse student community, with approximately 30% non-White students and 30% of students who identify as non-heterosexual. A wide range of diversity on other variables (ability status, religion, class) is also present. Our students are involved in a variety of professional functions that include practice, teaching, service, advocacy, and research activities.
