What is Pioneer Camp?                        

Pioneer Camp at Texas Woman’s University is a comprehensive and dynamic array of activities for incoming first year students during the fall semester.  These activities are designed to ensure first year students every opportunity to connect with the institution, meet their peers, faculty and staff. The wide array of activities include social, academic and networking opportunities for students.

How do I register for Pioneer Camp?

You are automatically registered for Pioneer Camp when you register for your First Time in College (FTIC) or Transfer Orientation session.

Is there a cost associated?

The cost of attendance is included in your Orientation fees.

Do I have to pay for meals?

Meals during Pioneer Camp will be a mixture of complimentary and meal plan meals. For students with meal plans, you will receive a bracelet that lets servers know your meals will be deducted from your meal plan. If you do not have a meal plan, you will receive a separate bracelet that will let servers know how your meal will be compensated. Please note, while some meals are free throughout Pioneer Camp, during the regular school year you will be required to use your Dining Dollars and/or your Meal Plan to dine in the eating facilities on campus.

When will I receive my Pioneer Camp schedule?

You will receive your Pioneer Camp schedule, Thursday, August 23rd at the Class Social located at Hubbard Hall. You will also sign up for your class service project and receive your welcome swag!

What are the events?

What should I go to? Are any of these events mandatory?

Attendance is expected at all workshops and events. Many of the attendees will win awesome prizes at the close of each session.
