UTMB PT Students say "Thanks!"
On Friday, March 6, a representative group of University of Texas Medical Branch physical therapy students from Galveston brought pizza and "Certificates of Appreciation" to formally thank the TWU physical therapy faculty and students from the 2008-2011 class for their assistance in the TWU Anatomy lab visits in the Fall of 2008. As it turns out, the destruction caused during Hurricane Ike rendered the UTMB Anatomy Lab facilities useless during the Fall 2008 semester when the PT students were engaged in learning about the structure and function of the human body.
Through the negotiations of Dr. Sharon Olson, Director of the TWU School of PT, Dr. William Bartlett, Anatomy Instructor, and Dr. Carolyn Utsey, Chair of the UTMB Department of Physical Therapy, arrangements were made to offer 2 anatomy review sessions for the Galveston students to facilitate their mastery of this material. They were most grateful for the opportunities to interact with the TWU cadavers and found an excellent way to express it!
