Katherine Landdeck, Associate Professor of History, joined the TWU Department of History and Government in the fall of 2002. She earned her B.A. in History and Political Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1992 and her M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Tennessee. Landdeck was a Guggenheim Fellow at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in 2000. She teaches American History survey courses as well as upper-level and graduate courses in Oral History and topics in twentieth-century America, including Between the Wars, World War II, and Post-1945 United States. Her primary topic of interest is the Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASP, of World War II. Landdeck is also the campus coordinator of the American Democracy Project and is leading campus efforts as one of sixteen universities nationwide involved in the ADP's Civic Agency Initiative.
