2012 Chancellor's Student Research Scholars
Three NFS students received the Chancellor's Student Research Scholars Award in 2012. The scholars program honors outstanding achievement by select students in research and creative art endeavors. Final selection of these scholars is made by the Research Committee of the Graduate Council, and they are awarded by the Chancellor at the Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium.

Student Dietetic Association
The Student Dietetic Association (SDA) functions to acquaint students with all aspects of nutrition; to broaden the scope of educational experiences through various nutrition-related activities and to provide members the opportunity to become more familiar with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (TAND), and Texas Student Dietetic Association (TSDA). The organization is also here to help students to become better acquainted with others in the field of nutrition and dietetics, and to stimulate and enhance interest in the profession of dietetics.
ADVISOR: Dolores Kearney, MPH, RDN, LD
VARIOUS ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
- Teaching and leadership opportunities, such as Operation Front Line
- Fund-raising events to benefit local charities
- Sponsorship of the Pioneer Pace 5K Run/Walk on Denton campus each Spring
DUES: $15 per semester ($30 per year), which includes membership in TSDA (Application)
