Dr. Etienne Stoupy is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at Texas Woman's University in Denton Texas. Dr. Stoupy is a native of France where he completed his undergraduate studies in trumpet performance at the Conservatoire Nationale de Lyon. He came to the United States in 2005 to pursue his Masters degree as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Memphis where he studied trumpet with Dr. David Spencer. After studying in Memphis, Dr. Stoupy received a Teaching Fellowship at the University of North Texas where he studied under Professor Keith Johnson. In 2010, Dr. Stoupy accepted the position of High Brass Adjunct Instructor at the University of Texas at Tyler.
Dr. Stoupy has performed with the Dallas Opera, Orchestra of New Spain, Corinth Symphony (MS) and Orquestra Sinfonica de la U.A.N.L. of Monterrey, Mexico. Etienne is a member of the International Trumpet Guild, College Music Society, American Federation of Musicians, and Texas Music Educators Association. He is also co-founder of the Metroplex Brass Quintet, which performs frequently in the Dallas-Fort Worth surrounding areas.
