About Reserves

Reserve materials are located at the Circulation Desk on Level 1 of the Main Library,
across from the Information Desk. Materials on reserve include those that professors have
requested for particular courses, those that professors have requested to be put on reserve
indefinitely, State- Adopted Textbooks, test files, and some plays.

The call numbers for all reserve materials can be obtained through the Online Catalog by
using either the main search engine (for permanent reserve material) or the Reserve
Materials button on the Main Search page (for material for a particular course). To obtain
any material from Reserve, you must have the call number that has been assigned to the
material.

Instructions for Locating Reserve Materials in the Online Catalog
- PDF version

• Go to the online catalog:
• Click on the fifth folder tab, "Course Reserve."

Search by ANY of the following:

• instructor
• department
• course

All reserve materials will be listed as being located at one of three locations:

• Library Location: Main Library - Reserve (Circulation Desk)
• Library Location: Parkland Library - Reserve (Circulation Desk - Dallas)
• OR Library Location: Presbyterian Library - Reserve (Circulation Desk- Dallas)

Make note of the Call Number that is listed and bring it to the Circulation Desk. Circulation Staff will need this Call Number in order to locate the material. Examples of Call Numbers include the following:

• HV1672.B72 1986
• PXB 322 (Book)
• PXF 17 (Folder)
• A TWU ID is required to check out ANY Reserve Materials.
