  1. Mr. Eric Rivas, doctoral student (advisor Dr. Vic Ben-Ezra) in Kinesiology, received a pre-doc grant of $50,000 (July 2014) from the American Heart Association for a project entitled "Synergistic Effects of Heat Stress during Exercise on Glycemic and Blood Pressure Responses".
  2. Mr. Eric Rivas, doctoral student (advisor Dr. V. Ben-Ezra) in Kinesiology, received a National Swimming Pool Foundation award (August 2014) a two year grant totaling $69,604 for the project entitled "Synergistic Effects of Heat Therapy on Glycemic Control and Blood Pressure Responses in Healthy Individuals and Type 2 Diabetes."
  3. FASEB MARC Travel awards: to Dr. Vic Ben-Ezra and two doctoral students, and Dr. Kyle Biggerstaff and two doctoral students to attend National ACSM, May-June 2014. All expenses paid by FASEB MARC Travel Program ($1850 per person).
