Center
The
primary objectives of the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences (NFS) at the
Houston Center are advance students' knowledge and expertise in the field of
nutrition and to provide a dietetic internship for those desiring to become
registered dietitians. Advanced studies in areas of specialization and in
research will provide students with the skills to be leaders.
NFS -
Houston offers the Master of Science in Nutrition and a Combined Master's and
Dietetic Internship Program. In addition, the department coordinates with the
dietetic internship program at the Houston Veterans Affairs Medical Center to
provide the graduate studies component of their program.
Courses
are offered both during the day and in the evening to facilitate completion of
the degree. In addition to the courses offered on campus by the faculty in
Houston, some courses are also provided by video-conferencing from the Denton
faculty, and other courses are available via the Internet.
