Department of Public Safety (DPS)
Our DPS security officers are a dedicated group of individuals who are vigilant in the watch they keep over our campus. Every officer makes it a point to get-to-know the faculty, staff, and students by sight, and if possible, by their name.
The DPS security desk is located in the main entry area of the first floor as you enter the building. On-duty officers may also be reached by dialing the last four digits of their phone number, (713) 794-2222, from any campus phone.
Lost and Found
All lost or found articles should be reported or turned in to the DPS security desk. You may also contact DPS on campus at extension 2222 and an officer will respond.
If you lose an item, the DPS office would like to encourage you to inquire about it frequently, as it may turn up well after your initial report. Ours is a safe campus, and theft is not a common occurrence. If you happen to mislay an important item, or think you have forgotten it in a classroom, lab or lounge area, please make sure to report it immediately to DPS. It is not unusual for “found items” to be turned back in to the officers, regardless of the expense. Please give the TWU community 24 hours to get the items back into the hands of the DPS Officers to return to you.
For more information regarding DPS information and procedures, visit the main DPS website.
