Greetings! I am the Director of University Housing. My position entails oversight responsibility for supervision and coordination of the entire housing department at TWU including the residence halls and apartment complexes. We have a very experienced group of staff members employed in University Housing who are delighted to work in collaboration with the Residence Hall Association and other student leaders to ensure TWU students are provided with a quality housing experience in support of academic excellence. Together, we implement the administrative tasks and day-to-day activities that take place in the various residential areas.
Originally from northeastern Wisconsin, my professional journey has provided employment and leadership opportunities in Nebraska, Mississippi, Massachusetts, and Ohio prior to my arrival at Texas Woman’s University. Along with a residence life career that spans over twenty-five years, I have a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi. My Master’s degree was completed at Central Missouri State University and I earned the Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville.
Residential living offers many wonderful opportunities for personal and academic growth. Texas Woman’s University has a fantastic campus and I encourage you to communicate with our University Housing Team while becoming involved in the wide range of educational, cultural, recreational and social activities we offer on a daily basis.
Please don’t hesitate to call (940) 898-3676 or stop by the Department of University Housing in Jones Hall if my staff or I can be of assistance to you!
Joseph Berthiaume, Ph.D.
