College admissions and scholarship essays can open doors to both acceptance and financial aid — but the writing process often feels overwhelming. Texas Woman’s University invites you to a free, one-hour webinar that breaks it down step by step, offering proven storytelling techniques you can put into action right away.
Led by Dr. Jackie Hoermann-Elliott, Associate Professor of English, Co-Director of First-Year Experience, and author of First-Year Composition: Writing as Inquiry and Argumentation, the session will empower students to find their voice, tell their stories, and stand out in a sea of applicants. The program will also cover common pitfalls to avoid, smart strategies for adapting one essay for multiple applications, and when to lean on — or step back from — AI tools.
The webinar is open to all high school seniors, parents, and counselors, regardless of which school you’re applying to. Expect to reduce stress, build your confidence, and leave with a clear roadmap for crafting a winning admissions essay.
