Classroom Technology
Standard classroom technology includes a fixed or portable instructor station featuring a computer, document camera, DVD/VCR deck, ports for auxiliaries (including laptop hook-up), and controls for a ceiling or desk mounted projector. In case of technical difficulties, each classroom houses a phone that connects directly to the Help Desk.
Software on classroom computers is the same as on lab computers. Applications include:

- Internet Explorer
- SPSS 15
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Flash
- Quicktime
- Windows Media Player
In addition to standard classroom technology, the Parkland campus has two auditorium style classrooms that can support overflow into adjoining classrooms. These two classrooms are also outfitted with classroom response systems for use with "clickers." The Presbyterian campus has one auditorium style classroom featuring a touch-panel control system.
Videoconferencing
Both Parkland and Presbyterian campuses have two videoconference rooms, one set up in seminar style and one as a traditional classroom.
-
Seminar style room: one video display, picture in picture used to see both sites simultaneously
Parkland 155, Presbyterian 219 -
Classroom style room: two video displays at the front of the classroom, one displays local site and one displays remote site
Parkland 229, Presbyterian 109
To schedule a videoconference, submit the Videoconference Request Form (accessible from campus only). The Dallas Support Team will ensure that your videoconference is connected a 1/2 hour before the event start time and that the connection with the remote site is properly tested.
