Welcome to the College of Professional Education!

We appreciate your interest and hope that you find the information on our websites useful. We have a wide array of undergraduate and graduate academic programs and offer many opportunities for professional preparation and development. Our programs are approved and accredited by appropriate state and national professional organizations.

The Department of Family Sciences houses programs in child development, counseling and development, early childhood development and education, family studies, and family therapy. Programs in bilingual and English as a second language, educational leadership, professional studies, and special education are found in the Department of Teacher Education. The Department of Reading houses programs in reading and our Reading Recovery programs. Programs in librarianship for school, public, academic, and special libraries are found in the School of Library and Information Studies. We invite you to explore these websites as well as those of the Office of Student Support Services and the Professional Development Center.

We have many things for which we are proud! You will find that we have highly qualified faculty members who are dedicated professionals, staff members that are eager to assist you, and the very best and most able students.

If you are a graduate of one of our programs please join us in the events that we hold throughout the year and help us communicate with others about these activities. We also invite you to make a contribution to a Friends account of your choice using our online pledge form. Your generosity will certainly be appreciated.

Please contact us if we can provide further information for you. We would welcome your visit to our campus and our college.
