The department offers several scholarships ranging from $100 to $1,500 per academic year to undergraduate and graduate chemistry majors.  These scholarships are awarded to first-time-in-college, transfer, and continuing students.  Scholarships may be awarded on the basis of overall GPA and GPA in chemistry courses, financial need, or other criteria specified by the scholarship.  Some of the scholarships carry the requirement that the recipient do research with a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.  For transfer and continuing students, the applicant should present a GPA of at least 3.00, overall and in chemistry coursework.

Scholarship Application forms are available in the Department Office or can be downloaded here.  The deadline for receiving applications is March 1, 2013 at 4:00PM.  Awards are announced April 2, 2013.  A portion of the department's scholarship funds are reserved and designated for incoming freshmen chemistry majors.

The University catalog also provides information on grants and non-departmental scholarships that are administered by the Financial Aid Office.
