The Fashion Camps are held on the TWU Denton Campus in the Old Main Building.

Overall, creativity, skill, ability, and hard work are the ingredients for a successful career in the fashion industry.

TWU Knows Fashion!
Texas Woman’s University knows fashion and prepares students every year for careers in fashion design and merchandising. Fashion positions are exciting and demanding! Some jobs require people with a high degree of artistic creativity and originality, while others require people with technical knowledge, math skills and people skills.

Apparel designers and merchandisers need to have the ability to lead a team and interpret fashion trends, in addition to being able to sketch, sew, and make patterns or sell, coordinate and manage.

About the Fashion Camp
The fashion camp will feature design professors, graduate students, and industry professionals presenting topics that will be fun and educational for the young fashion enthusiast.

Supplies Needed
Campers will need to bring:

• Extra shoes for modeling
• Denim jacket or old jeans for a project
• Sewing kit including: scissors, stitch ripper & straight pins
• Enthusiasm and imagination!

General Information

Camp Location, Dates and Times
The fashion camps will be held on the TWU Denton campus in the Old Main Building, fourth floor.

The fashion camp will be held June 22 - 26, 2009 for ages 10 - 13 and July 20 - 24, 2009 for ages 14 - 18. Each day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast and overview of the day. The camp will dismiss Monday - Thursday at 5 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday.

The campers will present a fashion show on Friday at 3 p.m. for family members and guests to attend. The fashion show will be held in the Old Main Building, fourth floor.

Registration Fee
The registration fee for the fashion camp is $299. The fee includes most supplies, continental breakfast, and lunch.

Confirmation Email Packet
Detailed directions to the campus, parking information, pick-up and drop-off locations, and additional details will be included in your confirmation email which will be sent after your registration and payment have been received. All event correspondence will be delivered to you by email. It is important to provide a current email address on the registration form and to check your spam box for information from Texas Woman’s University.

Refund/Cancellation Policy
Registrants who find it necessary to cancel will receive a refund, less a $75 processing fee. To receive a refund, you must submit written notification on or before June 17, 2009 (fax - 940.898.3416 or email lifelonginfo@twu.edu) Refunds will not be issued once the event begins. The Office of Lifelong Learning reserves the right to cancel this event if sufficient enrollment is not met. In doing so, Texas Woman’s University’s liability is limited to the registration fee.
