Your advisor will always talk with you first to determine what is the best course of action for you. All assessments are administered by appointment. Any assessment is free to current TWU students.

Self Directed Search (SDS)

The SDS test, by John Holland, a vocational psychologist, is an interest inventory which takes about 40 minutes to complete.  It is a self-scored assessment and the results are expressed in a three letter summary code.  Your advisor will interpret the results for you and you will be shown how to do occupational research based on your code.

A computerized guidance program assessing personality, fields of interest, work values and skills.

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The MBTI is also available and your advisor may suggest that you take the MBTI in addition to the SDS.  The MBTI helps you understand your strengths and weaknesses and the type of work setting you would like based on your personality type.
