GYMNASTICS: PIONEERS COME IN EIGHTEENTH IN 2007-08 NACGC/W TEAM ACADEMIC RANKINGS
DENTON, Texas (August 7) – The 2008 Texas Woman’s University gymnastics team compiled a 3.4389 team grade point average (GPA) during the 2007-08 academic year to finish eighteenth overall in the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) scholastic rankings of all the women’s gymnastics programs in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. The rankings are calculated by determining a weighted GPA on a 4.0 scale that creates a relevant measure for comparison among all universities in the United States.
GYMNASTICS: CANADIAN GYMNAST CHAYNADE KNOWLES SIGNS WITH TWU
DENTON, Texas (August 4) – Frank Kudlac, head gymnastics coach at Texas Woman’s University, regularly looks outside the state of Texas in his quest to bring top-notch talent to Denton. To find his latest recruit, however, Kudlac looked out of the country – all the way up to North Delta, British Columbia – and signed Canadian standout Chaynade Knowles to a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Pioneers in 2009.

RICHARDSON, Texas (July 31) – Central Oklahoma is the top choice to win the Lone Star Conference women’s soccer championship according to the league’s 2008 preseason poll released Thursday.
