Carol Everhart, a veteran librarian with 25 years experience, has been named Director of Library Services for Tarrant County College's new Trinity River Campus.
Ms. Everhart served as librarian for both Carter & Burgess (now Jacobs) and Bell Helicopter Textron. She also was Dean of Learning Resources in the Dallas County Community College District. Most recently, Everhart worked as a communications officer for the City of Fort Worth's Community Relations Department.
A Kellogg Fellow, Ms. Everhart has served on the Governor's Commission for Library and Information Services and at Dallas' Cedar Valley College, she was named Innovator of the Year and received the President's Award.
Marilyn Bratcher Davis, 1972, Nursing
Texas Governor Rick Perry recently appointed Marilyn Davis, a Registered Nurse, for a six year term to the Texas State Board of Nursing.
Ms. Davis most recent employer was The Menninger Clinic where she worked for over four and half years as a Nurse Coordinator and Staff Nurse. She also has held numerous other professional positions as Clinical Director, Nurse Manager, Adjunct professor and military officer in the United States Air Force Nurse Corp. Some of her aforementioned positions were with the Veterans Administration (VA), Auburn University School of Nursing, Howard University Hospital Psych Unit, Mental Health Mental Retardation of Harris County (MHMRA), University of Nebraska Medical Center, Loma Linda University Medical Center and Southern Maryland hospital.
Ms. Davis is a member of many professional organizations and is active in her local community of Sugar Land, TX. She and her husband have two sons.
Kathy Williams, 1981, BA Journalism
Journalist Kathy Williams, VP News Director for the FOX affiliate station in Houston has been awarded two recent honors. The news staff received 17 Lone Star Emmys with Kathy herself winning two. She was also recently named News Director of the year by American Women in Radio and Television.
A mother and children’s book author, Kathy has donated hundred of hours to child and literacy projects. She is a Distinguished Alumnae of Texas Woman’s University and TWU Foundation Board member. She serves on the boards for the Advancement of Mexican Americans and the Houston Association of Black Journalists.
Sandra Minton, PhD, 1981, Dance
Sandra Minton recently published a book titled “using Movement to Teach Academics: The Mind and Body as One Entity.” The Publisher is Rowman and Littlefield Education. The focus of the book is the use of movement and dance to teach academics, while giving student a chance to use creative problem-solving skills. The author is a dance specialist with Littleton Colorado Public Schools. She has authored other books, published many articles and research findings in juried journals, and was Fulbright Scholar to Finland. She regularly presents on-line and face-to-face workshops on the topic of this book.

Caryl has been awarded the Woman of the Year in Medicine and Healthcare by the American Biographical Institute. The award for October, 2008 was received in January, 2009.
Elizabeth Duncan, B.S. 1988, Radio/Television
Elizabeth has been hired as News Director at Boise State Radio. Elizabeth is responsible for assigning and editing stories for newscasts and planning feature stories as well as local news and public service programming.
Elizabeth is the former spokesperson for the City of Boise Office of the Mayor and Public Works. She has more than 12 years experience as a journalist around the country, including experience with public television in Columbia, SC, and as a news anchor at Channel 7 in Nampa, ID.

Robin Britt and Sandy Cesario have been named as American Academy of Nursing Fellows (FAAN) and will be inducted into the prestigious group in November of 2008 in Scottsdale, AZ. FAAN is comprised of nursing leaders in education, management, practice and research. Potential Fellows must show evidence of outstanding contributions to the improvement of nursing at the national or international level and are selected by an admissions committee and the membership. After induction members are designated with the FAAN title.
Robin serves as a Senior Institutional Development Officer and Professor at Texas Woman’s University, Houston campus. Sandy is Associate Professor and Doctoral Coordinator on the TWU Houston campus.

Dr. Susan Ruppert, associate professor of nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Nursing, has been inducted as a 2008 fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). The induction was held in July in Washington, D. C. The fellowship program was created in 2000 to recognize nursing leaders who have made exemplary contributions to health care through nurse practitioner clinical practice, research, education or policy.
Alfonette Holloway Timms, 1992, Social Work
The Falls County, Texas, Extension Office has announced the hiring of Alfornette Holloway Timms as a new Texas AgriLife Extension agent. Her duties will include working with Falls County 4-H children and educating residents in areas such as money management, cooking and nutrition, and parenting. In addition she will conduct camps and programs geared to teaching children life skills, including the new Food Challenge, an “Iron Chef" type contest for teams of children to practice nutrition and food preparation skills. Timms and her husband have two children, ages 11 and 9.
Charlene Arnett, 1993, Masters in Healthcare Administration
Charlene was recently named chief executive officer for Krause Children’s Center in Katy TX, a facility that cares for boys and girls, ages 11 to 17, who have severe emotional and behavioral problems as a result of past abuse and neglect.
She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Krause Children’s Center. Prior to joining Lutheran Social Services, Charlene was previously chief executive officer at United Health Systems – Pavilion at Northwest Texas Health System in Amarillo, Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. – West Oaks Hospital in Houston, Intracare Hospital in Houston, and Century Healthcare – High Point Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Anne Thomas is an experienced health researcher and educator recently appointed as Director of the graduate programs at the University of Indianapolis School of Nursing.
She has previously been at the Michigan School of nursing as a clinical assistant professor and coordinator of the Adult Practitioner Program and at the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Nursing Research in Bethesda, MD. Thomas’ specialties and research interests have included health promotion, cancer screening in older adults and healthcare decision-making among chronically ill and older patients.

William was named Richland College Employee of the Month and nominated for Innovation of the Year. He is a member of the National Association of Student Financial Administrators and the Southwestern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
