The College of Professional Education requires the following for admission to TWU's Teacher Education Program:
  • Successful completion of EDUC 2003 (C or better) or concurrent enrollment in EDUC 2003/3003/3001
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • TASP/THEA Scores:  Reading 260, Math 240, Writing 240 OR Accuplacer Scores:  Reading 80, Math 65, Writing 82/6 OR ACT Scores: English 19, Math 19, Composite 23 OR SAT Scores: Verbal 500, Math 500, Composite 1070 (SAT or ACT must be within last 5 years) 
  • Grade of C or better in SPCH 1013, or a performance Drama or Theatre course that requires demonstration of self expression/speaking ability, or an approved oral communication course
  • No grade below a C will be accepted for course work in the major or minor.

Students may not enroll in certain classes until these test scores are reached or exceeded.  There are no exceptions or exemptions to these scores.  All questions about meeting the requirements should be directed to the College of Professional Education.

As of March 2009, TWU no longer offers THEA testing.  Please visit the THEA website for dates at other area institutions.
