Because passing the TExES exams is a state requirement for teaching certification, policies and procedures are in place to encourage and support students in TWU's teacher education program in passing their exams by the time they graduate.
TWU TExES Policy
To be enrolled in their Student Teaching or Internship, students in the TWU educator preparation program must have passed their state PPR TExES exam and must have taken their state content and supplemental TExES exams at least one time. To be approved to take a state PPR or content TExES exam, students must have taken an official TExES practice exam through the TWU TExES PREP Center and received a score of 75% or above on the practice exam (80% or above for BTLPT, Music and Kinesiology). Secondary and all-level certification students may substitute approval from their department chair for the required score on their content exam.
