TWU campuses to close for Memorial Day
All TWU campuses will close Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. The TWU Dallas Center and the TWU Houston Center will also close on Saturday, May 25.
The New TWU T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas Center
The TWU T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas Center opened in February 2011, combining the university’s Parkland and Presbyterian sites into an eight-story, 190,00-square-foot building in the heart of the Southwestern Medical District.
The Dallas Center bears the name of Texas oilman and entrepreneur T. Boone Pickens, who donated $5 million to the building’s fundraising campaign. The center houses the Houston J. and Florence A. Doswell College of Nursing, the TWU Stroke Center-Dallas and the university’s physical therapy, occupational therapy and health systems management programs.
State Mandated Immunization Requirement
Effective January 1, 2012, State of Texas law requires that all new and transfer college students must receive a vaccination or booster against bacterial meningitis. This applies to both undergraduate and graduate students. Students who were previously enrolled at TWU but not enrolled during the Fall 2011 term are also required to receive the vaccination to enroll for Spring 2012. More detailed information on this requirement.
Name a chair and be a permanent part of the new Dallas Center!
For a tax-deductible gift of $100, you can name one of 222 chairs in the building’s first floor auditorium. A donor plaque will recognize you and/or someone you wish to honor in this thoughtful and tangible way. Learn more on the Dallas Chair Campaign page.
TWU would like to express its sincere appreciation to the following TWU Dallas Center campaign donors. More...
